Fashion
For most individuals within the more extensive global or globalizing communities, fashion is a way of relating to others and defining themselves. However, for some groups, fashion is a source of differentiation and creating the perception of what is socially appropriate or fashionable. Social groups often have opposing definitions of what is fashionable. Some individuals may value certain dress styles as being in fashion, while others may deem these same styles of dress to be ridiculous or overdone. Within fashion, the term fashionable can refer to both these extremes. This diversity of definitions provides an environment in which numerous styles, types of garments, types of accessories, and types of trends can evolve and thrive.
